Maurice Berry
Pastor Maurice Berry was born in Detroit MI, and is the oldest of 5 children. He comes
from a line of Baptist preachers. His grandfather had his own church for many years, in
Detroit, for family members only. He also has three other preachers in his family that
have big congregations in Clinton, Mississippi. Nevertheless, his conversion didn’t
come until the age of 19, when he was invited to a Daniel and Revelation Seminar at
City Temple SDA church in Detroit. Even though he never intended to respond to the
call of the Lord, a voice spoke to him, saying “Are you coming?” and “If you deny me
now, I will deny you a place in the Kingdom of Heaven”. After this he responded
immediately and stood up.

Three months later he decided to resign to his job at General Motors, where he was a
supervisor making a very good salary, in order to serve God as a Literature Evangelist.
This was prompted by the same dream he had had for three nights in a row, where he
would see the Sunday Law passed, the time of trouble, and the Coming of Jesus. He
went through a lot of suffering, but persevered in the field for 7 years.

In 1983, he decided to enter the Ministry and enrolled in Oakwood College, and later on
he went to Andrews University. While Pastor Berry was attending Andrews, the Lord
directed him to be the Associate Publishing Director for the South Atlantic Conference
of SDA, where he rendered his services for several years.

As his time in that field of labor was coming to a close, the Lord was opening the door
for him to enter the self supporting work with his own ministry, while serving as a
pastor in Miami Florida.
